Encouraging Your Child's Interests

It is important to encourage your child to be themselves as everyone is different and has interests in different things.  

By encouraging your child’s interests you are setting them up to be successful and develop a confidence in the things they enjoy doing.

Find time for your child to do the things they enjoy by joining a local club/group or finding activities where they can explore their interests.

Remember not to push your child into doing something just because it is something that interests you - encourage them to explore what they like doing.  However, sharing your own interests and passions can be a great way to bond.  You might be surprised to find that they enjoy the things you like just a much as you do!

Some children like physical activities and some prefer more creative activities - whatever it is give them the space and time to develop and join in the process with them.
